Premium Grenadil tree
Wood with unique qualities
There are many varieties of Grenadilla trees. All these types sound different. It is very difficult to buy wood, it is quite expensive.
Many years I tested kinds and found the ideal balance.
(I'll tell you a secret, for my solo performances and studio recordings I have a full concert set of Grenadil Duduk)
What is unique about this particular type of grenadilla?
1. This is a very strong tree.
2. It has a viscous fiber consistency and an oil base.
3. The weight of the tree is three times greater than that of a classic apricot.
4. Don't be afraid of moisture!
5. Don't be afraid of temperature changes.
6. It has a very soft timbre throughout the entire register, regardless of the key of the duduk.
7. Very pleasant and warm to the touch, feels like a velvety duduk
8. My personal feelings are that I want to hold it in my hands.
✅️Duduk made from this type of grenadilla is ideal for playing in symphonic ensembles.
The classic apricot timbre is as close as possible to violins in register and sound frequency.
This type of grenadilla is also close, but there is an interesting feature in spectral analysis: some frequencies resonate more actively, which increases the clarity of the presence of the duduk timbre in the ensemble.
Ideal for studio use and with narrow-band microphones
