In Indian culture it is used to play ragas.
Recently this flute becomes popular among the musicians all over the world, it is used in pop music and even in jazz.
It is one of my favorite flutes which I use in my work.

| The Sufi flute Ney. The most mysterious flute. Made from a certain type of reed. Can be complicated to produce the sound out of it. To play it one has to have a special kind of attention and a good concentration. |
| Vargan – the instrument from Altai region. Used by shamans. There are analogues of this instrument in different cultures of the world. Up until now historians are not fully certain as to where that instrument has first appeared. It is used in shamanic practices for meditation, as well as to balance the breathing and the mind of the performer. Also, it is excellent to play for the rhythmic dancing melodies. In the Altai region, the performers even "talk" with the help of Vargan. Every syllable played on it is a separate phrase that has its' own meaning. |
